Wild Birth
Birth is inherently wild!
Spring has sprung and once again a new beginning is upon us. Just as parenthood brings a new chapter to our lives, a new season allows us to start fresh and emerge from all we have learned through the cold winter.
Wild - I cannot think of a more befitting word to describe the beauty that is pregnancy, labour, birth, postpartum and parenthood.
I would love to send a huge congratulation to all our birthing and pregnant mammas out there, I hope you are finding the wild enchantment in your personal journey.
When I think about the word wild, it evokes a strong sense of peace within me, even though at first thought one might think of connecting chaos with the word wild, this is reminiscent of how much of our society views labour and birth. However to be wild is to be raw, primal, instinctual, free, cathartic, being in the most true state of self that one can be.
Being in the wild allows us to connect with ourselves, our ancestors and find truths to questions unanswered. Mother nature is the perfect remedy for keeping us grounded and self regulated.
Wild echoes throughout parenthood as we realise our babies and children are so uniquely individual that we can only guide them through life. We can and should never tame them, they will follow their hearts and do so unapologetically.
Wild women are often looked upon as uncouth, breaking societal norms and disrupting the status quo. I believe within each and every one of us there is a wild woman just waiting to break free, allowing her to come forth and be present is true authentic living and encourages others to follow their desires.
Although many of you reading this are strangers to me, I am so proud of you all and feel such a sense of community in the birthing world. I wish you all the best and I hope however your birth plays out you walk away feeling strong and proud of what you have accomplished.
Remember, we are all a little bit wild and what a wonderful thing to be.
Xoxo
